Limegreen To Provide Temporary Power and Electrical Distribution to BBC Proms in the Park 2009

Limegreen Events are pleased to announce that they have been asked to provide the temporary power and electrical distribution at this years BBC Proms in the Park in Swansea.

Limegreen have provided it's services to this particular event for many years and the team are very excited about this recent news.

Limegreen At Truck Festival 12



2 days of music, 6 performance areas, over 70 artists and 5,000 ticket holders, this year's Truck Festival was an undeniable success. Although a relatively small festival in comparison to others, Truck festival is certainly mighty with the likes of Supergrass and Ash headlining.

Production Manager Alex Cameron led the Limegreen Events team providing power to every area of the festival site including the stages, production area, catering, concessions, bars, campsites and toilets. In addition Limegreen provided tower lighting and 500 metres of festoon lighting for the market field and campsite.

This was the first year for Limegreen at the Truck Festival held at Hill Farm in Oxford and organisers were pleased with how smoothly the event ran.

Limegreen Joins the Carnival Celebrations in Oxford



Over 30,000 people of all ages enjoyed Oxford's Carnival in the Park this July with Limegreen Events supplying the power and electrical distribution for the main event site. This year's carnival proved to be bigger and better than ever celebrating cultural diversity and community with a mixture of music and acts from world music to rock on the many performance areas throughout South Park.

Limegreen designed and installed a temporary power system that catered for the specific demands of every aspect of the carnival ensuring the electrical safety of the system was at the forefront:

Children's Food Festival



The Northmoor Trust Farm in Abingdon was the event site for the 2009 Children's Food Festival. A new event for Limegreen, the team were pleased to be asked to provide the power and electrical distribution for the event site.

Over eight separate areas required power including 'The Celebrity Chef Cookery Theatre' which had live cookery demonstrations by some of the biggest names in the industry from Raymond Blanc to Sophie Grigson, 'The Kid's Kitchen' and a variety of fun attractions including the 'sleeping sow'.

Limegreen also provided a variety of lighting for the site from tower lighting to flood lighting for production areas and the site in general.
The organisers hailed the event as a success and Limegreen look forward to working on similar projects planned in the near future.


Limegreen Returns to Wales' Biggest Dance Festival: Escape Into The Park



20,000 people descended upon Singleton Park in Swansea on one of the hottest days in June to attend the annual Escape Into The Park Festival. The festival featured some of the biggest names in dance music including Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes, Andy C, Scratch Perverts and Utah Saints. Limegreen returned this year to supply the temporary power and electrical distribution to the entire festival site which comprised one main music stage, four music arenas, several bars and catering outlets, marquees, market and merchandise stalls and of course the festival fairground.

Limegreen Events has worked closely with Escape's festival organisers for the last four years and fully understands the importance of an uninterrupted power supply for an event of this scale. Limegreen provided everything the organisers needed to ensure the smooth operation of the festival's temporary energy supply and distribution. The team, headed by Production Manager Alex Cameron, spent five days installing the power system which had been carefully designed, with over ten generators, fuel tanks, countless metres of cabling and several tower lights. During the event day Limegreen engineers and electrical technicians were on standby to monitor the power and distribution system and give peace of mind to the festival organisers.

The festival this year was a complete success and the team look forward to next years event which is tipped to be bigger and better than ever....

Opera In The Park



Limegreen were approached by local organisation artREGEN in partnership with Torfaen County Council to provide its services for their annual event Opera In The Park in Pontypool in June this year. Every year the event showcases the talents of the singers and the musicians of the Welsh National Opera.

After an initial site visit, Production Manager Alex Cameron designed an effective temporary power and distribution system to power three separate performance areas of the park; the bandstand, the Italian Gardens and a main stage performance area in the event marquee.

In addition to the power and distribution, Limegreen supplied and installed sound and lighting systems for both indoor and outdoor performance areas. One of Limegreen's experienced technicians was on hand to ensure the technical aspects of the event went without a hitch:

'During this years Opera in the Park [Limegreen's] work in the open air was as good as that within the marquee. The musicians and singers of the Welsh National Opera were also pleased with the quality of sound and the cooperation which they received'.

Limegreen Powers World's Biggest Vegan Fayre



Over 6,000 people attended this years Vegan Fayre at Bristol. Situated in on the Waterfront amphitheatre, the festival was host to 2 live music performance stages, over 100 stalls, several bars, food outlets and cookery demonstration areas and presentation marquees.

For the fourth year runnning, Limegreen provided temporary power and electrical distribution to all aspects of the festival site over the two days. Festival organiser Tim Barford was pleased with the success of this years festival and commented:

'Limegreen have been a pleasure to work with for several years now at the Bristol Vegan Fayre, efficient, dependable, friendly, chilled and on the ball – just what you need for a high profile outdoor event where the electric supply is under severe tests! I’d happily recommend them to other organisers’.

Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama 60th Anniversary Launch


The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama invited Limegreen Events to provide conference facilities for their 60th Anniversary Launch held at Cardiff Castle. Working closely with the client, Limegreen designed and installed a conference system tailored to the specific needs of the event including sound, AV, lighting and staging.

The technical aspects were key to the success of the evening which included a variety of guest speakers, many with power point presentations and at the end of the evening there were performances from music students from the College. During this prestigious event, Limegreen technicians were on hand to ensure that last minute client demands could be dealt with effectively and that the event ran smoothly from beginning to end.

The organisers were pleased with the service delivered by Limegreen Events and Helen Protheroe, Development Manager at RWCMD commented, 'Working with Limegreen has made the organising and running of the event a much easier and less complicated process for our small team, and in addition been very cost effective'.

Otra Vida, Oxford



Limegreen powers Charity Festival with a South American twist!

Music, food, drink, art, circus entertainment and a funfair; these were all part of the Otra Vida Festival, organised by the Peruvian charity Aldea Yanapay.

Working closely with the charity's festival organisers and their budget, Limegreen came up with cost effective power and distribution solutions that catered for the demands of the festival site. Providing and distributing temporary power to the three stages, production areas, marquees and trade stalls and providing general site lighting to the event location in South Park, Oxford.

The festival was successful with all the profits being used to support Aldea Yanapay's orphanage project in Peru and Oxford based children's hospice, Helen and Douglas House.

Swansea Waterfront Winterland



Since 2006 Limegreen Events has supplied the power and electrical distribution to Swansea Council's main annual event; The Waterfront Winterland. Over the last four years the company's involvement in the event has grown and in addition to supplying the temporary power and electrical distribution, Limegreen has supplied and installed the lighting, sound system and provided electrical event cover.

In addition to the main electrical contract, Limegreen was awarded the crew contract for the event. Eight site management professionals and over twenty five site crew were supplied for the thirteen week event.

Flexibility has always been the key to the company's success and the Limegreen team has the ability to offer a service as focused or as wide ranging as the client requires. Each year as the event develops and grows Limegreen has been able to adapt to the changes and demands of the site.

For over ten years Limegreen Events has enjoyed a close working relationship with Swansea City Council's Events Team and is one of their preferred contractors working on diverse events such as The City & County Show, Wales Rally GB, Wave FM's Party in the Park, The Christmas Markets, Red Bull Air Race and BBC Proms in the Park.

Big Balloon Festival, Caerphilly




Limegreen Events were invited back for a third year to provide power and electrical distribution for the Big Balloon Festival 2008.


The Big Balloon Festival is the finale to Caerphilly Council's summer events programme and apart from the title attraction the festival is host to a variety of attractions. Working with the Council, Limegreen successfully designed and installed a temporary power system that catered for all aspects of the festival site at Blackwood Showfields which included a performance stage, catering, craft stalls and a funfair. Despite the typical Welsh weather, the two day event was a great success with over 20,000 people attending.

To date Limegreen has provided it's services for many of Caerphilly Council's events, most notably The Big Cheese Festival and Medieval Markets.
